Tensions escalated in West Bengal as Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Ratna Chatterjee was booked following reports of violence and vandalism at a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Behala. According to the transcript, the BJP accused TMC workers of storming their election office in Behala West, tearing down posters of Narendra Neelkanth, and vandalising the premises. CCTV footage reportedly captured the incident, which led to a ruckus between supporters of both parties. One TMC worker has been arrested, and an FIR has been registered against seven individuals at the Parnosri police station, including Ratna Chatterjee. While the BJP alleged that these are ‘intimidating tactics’ intended to create fear among their workers, the TMC has dismissed the claims, shifting the blame onto BJP supporters for provocation. Following the clash, a significant police presence was deployed outside the BJP office to maintain law and order. Investigations into the matter are ongoing as political temperatures rise in the state.
