In an exclusive interview, BJP spokesperson and senior advocate Nalin Kohli discussed the party’s campaign strategy for the West Bengal elections. Kohli emphasized that Prime Minister Modi’s campaign remains focused on development and central welfare schemes, contrasting it with what he described as a climate of normalized violence in the state. He stated, "bomb making has become a sort of a cottage industry" in Bengal, claiming that citizens are living in fear. Addressing the Trinamool Congress’s allegations regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists and the disenfranchisement of 80 lakh voters, Kohli defended the Election Commission’s mandate to ensure a ‘pure’ electoral roll free of non-citizens or deceased voters. He further dismissed claims that central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate act as the ‘B-team’ of the BJP, arguing that the recovery of large sums of cash from individuals linked to the ruling state government justifies the ongoing investigations into corruption.
