A massive explosion struck the southern suburbs of Beirut on the night of March 15, with fire and smoke visible following fresh Israeli air raids. Israel continues its offensive in Lebanon, with over 850 people killed in Israeli attacks so far. The densely populated southern suburb of Beirut has been largely evacuated, with more than five lakh people displaced and sheltering in hotels, streets, or shelter homes. Israeli forces are conducting ongoing bombardment across Lebanon, including northern and southern regions, with nearly 100 villages in south Lebanon already dislocated. A ground battle is currently underway in Khayyam town, where Israeli Defence Forces launched a ground invasion with armored vehicles and tanks, facing counter-attacks from Hezbollah fighters. Israel claims Hezbollah poses a major threat to northern Israel, which continues to face rocket and drone attacks despite Israeli claims of dismantling Hezbollah’s leadership and capabilities.
