In a disturbing escalation of violence, two Hindu men have been lynched in Bangladesh within a week, sparking outrage in India. This India Today report details the brutal killing of 30-year-old Amrit Mandal in Rajbari district on December 24, following the lynching of 27-year-old Deepu Chandradas on December 18. While Bangladeshi police allege Mandal was involved in extortion, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has dismissed excuses, expressing ‘grave concern’ over the targeted attacks. MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, ‘The unremitting hostility against minorities in Bangladesh including Hindus, Christians and Buddhists at the hands of extremists is a matter of grave concern.’ The report also highlights protests in Kolkata and condemnation from Indian actors like Janhvi Kapoor.
