A day after The Times of India reported that a 12-year-old girl developed a stomach ulcer from consuming liquid nitrogen paan, Commissioner Srinivas K of the food safety department shared a restraining order that had been sent to the health department and minister earlier in May. The order, dated May 3, prohibits the use of liquid nitrogen in food service.
