Baba Kalyani, MD of Bharat Forge, Slams Trump on Weaponising Everything
At the Forces First Conclave, Baba Kalyani, MD of Bharat Forge, spoke about the changing global landscape, saying that with the change in the U.S. presidency, “anything and everything is being used as a weapon.” He explained that it is no longer only real weapons that are weaponised. Today, money, trade, imports, exports, and technology are being used as tools of power. Referring to the ongoing chip tensions between China and India, he warned that this will soon affect India as well.
He stressed that as everything becomes weaponised, the only way for a country to survive and grow is by becoming Aatmanirbhar, not just by stopping imports, but by building inner strength so that “nobody can tell you what to do or not to do.” He stressed on the importance of speed, and revealed that Bharat Forge is developing over 100 products for the Indian Armed Forces, including 12 artillery platforms, even amid global economic pressures.
