‘At Least Put Your Signature In Tamil’: PM Modi’s Sharp Jibe At MK Stalin Over Language Row
Over the ongoing language row controversy, PM Modi, on April 6th, took a dig at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin after inaugurating the New Pamban Bridge in Rameswaram.
While addressing a rally, he remarked, "Sometimes, I am surprised when I receive letters from some leaders of Tamil Nadu — none of them are signed in Tamil. If we are proud of Tamil, then I would request everyone to at least sign their name in Tamil."
Earlier, the Centre and the Stalin-led DMK government have often exchanged heated arguments over the language issue, with Stalin accusing the Modi government of promoting Hindi colonialism.
However, today PM Modi countered the accusation, stating, "The government is constantly working to ensure that the Tamil language and Tamil heritage reach every corner of the world."
