Astronomers have discovered an ultramassive black hole that is about 30 billion times the mass of our Sun, making it one of the largest ever detected. Located in the Abell 1201 galaxy cluster, this black hole was identified using a technique called gravitational lensing. This natural magnifying method allowed scientists to observe it despite its inactive state. Unlike most massive black holes, it doesn’t emit strong X-rays or light. The discovery was confirmed through Hubble Space Telescope images and offers new insight into black hole evolution across cosmic time.
