Astronomers have discovered two super-Earth exoplanets orbiting Gliese 887, a red dwarf star just 11 light-years away from Earth. These planets, larger than Earth but smaller than Neptune, are located near the star’s habitable zone, where liquid water could potentially exist. They complete orbits in just 9.3 and 21.8 Earth days, moving faster than Mercury. The discovery was made using the "Doppler wobble" technique by the Red Dots project. Due to their proximity, these planets are prime candidates for future studies in the search for life beyond our solar system.
