The Akal Takht, the highest temporal body of Sikhs, has declared Sukhbir Singh Badal a ‘tankhia’ or sinner. Badal, former Deputy CM of Punjab, was found guilty of wrong political decisions during his party’s tenure from 2007 to 2017. He arrived at the Golden Temple to serve a religious punishment, which includes guarding the temple.
