Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his wife visited Zubeen’s residence in Kahilipara, where emotional crowds chanted "Joi Zubeen Da!" and sang classics like "Mayabini Ratir Bukut" and "Amanikha Hare Ase." AASU organized a special condolence gathering at Latasil Field at 6 PM, while midnight vigils lit up Ganeshguri and Zoo Road with candles and portraits of the icon. Zubeen’s mortal remains arrived in Guwahati via Delhi on the evening of September 20, with a public tribute at Sarusajai Stadium. From politicians like Pijush Hazarika and Gaurav Gogoi to artists like Papon and Pritam, tributes poured in, hailing him as Assam’s irreplaceable voice and cultural heartbeat. His legacy of over 16,000 songs in Assamese, Hindi, Bengali, and more will echo forever.
