Delhi Elections: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi campaigned in Delhi for his party’s Okhla candidate, Shifa Ur-Rehman, who is an accused in the 2020 Delhi riots case. Speaking to NDTV’s Ahtasham Khan, Mr Owaisi questioned why a riots-accused cannot contest elections when Arvind Kejriwal, who was jailed in a corruption case, is allowed to run. He accused Mr Kejriwal of neglecting Muslims and Okhla, asserting that AIMIM is receiving massive support and will create history in the constituency. Mr Owaisi emphasized that the law permits Shifa-Ur-Rehman to contest, dismissing concerns over a split in Muslim votes.
