In Mendhar and Poonch, security measures have been significantly intensified. From BSF to CRPF, all are on their toes. Over 18.30 lakh voters will decide the fate of 20 candidates in the sixth phase in Rajouri-Anantnag.
Top contenders in fray are PDP’s Mehbooba Mufti, BJP-backed JKAP’s Zaffar Iqbal Manhas and DPAP leader Maqbool Parray. Notably, Baramulla LS constituency witnessed a remarkable voter turnout of 59% in phase 5. Srinagar witnessed a record 38% voter turnout in the May 13 polling.
