In an exclusive broadcast from the AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam, French President Emmanuel Macron and Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof shared their visions for strategic cooperation with India. President Macron addressed criticisms of industrial partnerships, stating, ‘I don’t see how people can criticize because it makes your country stronger, it increases strategic relations between us and it creates more jobs here.’ He reaffirmed his commitment to manufacturing critical devices in India, citing the Tata-Airbus deal as a blueprint for future Rafale cooperation. Meanwhile, Dutch PM Dick Schoof highlighted the deepening India-Netherlands ties, noting that the Netherlands is the fourth-largest investor in India. Schoof expressed hope for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Netherlands to finalise agreements in semiconductors, water management, and defence. He also emphasised India’s role in bridging the North-South divide and advocated for ‘responsible AI’ to protect vulnerable groups like children from misinformation. The programme also reported on the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in the UK on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
