The Supreme Court has stayed two key provisions of the Waqf Act Amendment, halting appointments to the Waqf Board and Council, and preventing changes to the nature of registered Waqf properties. The petitioners argue that the amendments violate Islamic law and customs, and are unconstitutional. The government has been given seven days to file an affidavit with proper paperwork.
