Amit Shah Details Red Terror Victory, Attacks Congress Over Naxalism | Lok Sabha | India First

Union Home Minister Amit Shah detailed India’s victory over left-wing extremism in Lok Sabha, stating that Red Terror, which once affected 12 states and 70 per cent of the territory, has been eliminated. He said Bastar is now almost Red Terror free, with schools, healthcare centres and ration shops established. Shah criticised the Congress party, questioning why development in Naxal-affected areas was not undertaken during their 60 years in power out of 75 years since independence. He attacked those who compared Red Terror supporters to Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Bhagwan Birsa Munda, stating that anyone who picks up weapons against democratically elected governments would be dealt with. Shah credited the success to the support of the people and sacrifices made by Central Armed Police Forces personnel. In 2024, Shah had set a deadline of 31st March 2026 to make India free of Naxalism. The report also highlighted the continuing challenge of urban Naxals and their ideological influence.
