Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the formation of a high-power demographic mission at a Sashastra Seema Bal event in Araria, Bihar. Shah stated that demographic change does not create a healthy society and that changes caused by illegal infiltration are extremely dangerous for a country’s culture, history, and geography. The committee will study changes in population structure across the entire country, including border areas, and recommend measures to the government to balance the population. Shah emphasised that the most affected regions by demographic change are Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand. He expressed confidence that the BJP will form the government in West Bengal and stated that the party’s first agenda would be to complete border fencing and identify and deport infiltrators. Shah thanked the people of Bihar for their support, noting that removing infiltrators was part of the mandate received in recent elections.
