The Trinamool Congress on Friday released a purported audio clip in which two people were heard planning to attack protesting junior doctors during their sit-in and alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched to defame the Mamata Banerjee-led government in West Bengal.
The junior doctors are holding a sit-in outside Swasthya Bhavan, the state’s health department headquarters, and the protest entered the fourth day on Friday. They are demanding the removal of top officials of the department over alleged corruption in the medical education sector apart from strict action over the gruesome rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last month.
