Reports indicate that the Shivling, which previously stood at 12 to 15 feet tall, is now only about one and a half to two feet in height. The Kashmir valley is experiencing a heat wave, with rising temperatures and lack of snowfall in recent years significantly reducing ice retention. Despite these challenges, pilgrims continue their journey with enthusiasm, chanting ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and ‘Bambam Bhole’ as they trek towards the Amarnath cave.
