Recent research suggests that our solar system’s Oort Cloud may harbor up to one million asteroids originating from the Alpha Centauri star system, located approximately 4.3 light-years away. These interstellar objects, some exceeding 100 meters in diameter, have likely been ejected from their home system and captured by the Sun’s gravitational pull. As Alpha Centauri approaches its closest point to us in 28,000 years, the influx of such objects is expected to increase.
