Indian and Chinese officials met in New Delhi for talks on the boundary question. The meeting between National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is seen as a critical step towards improving bilateral relations ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to China for the SCO Summit. Discussions focused on rebuilding mutual trust, managing disagreements, and stabilizing the borders. The Chinese Foreign Minister stated, "a healthy and stable China-India relationship serves the fundamental and long-term interests of both of our countries." The dialogue also covered economic ties, including the issue of critical minerals. Both sides are working to build on the consensus reached during the 23rd round of special representative talks and a meeting between their leaders in Kazan last October.
