Air India has issued a statement thanking the government for its decision to moderate Aviation Turbine Fuel prices for domestic operations. While foreign airlines face a 114 per cent increase in jet fuel market value, the government has capped the rise for domestic carriers at 8.5 per cent. Air India described this as ‘a thoughtful and timely step that brings welcome relief to the aviation sector in these unprecedented times.’ The airline extended gratitude to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for their leadership and timely intervention. The move comes amid pressure from rising crude oil costs, which threatened to increase ticket prices. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation, along with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, is monitoring the dynamic fuel price situation to ensure relief for passengers and airlines.
