Air India Denies Allegations Of Forcing Families To Disclose Financial Details For Compensation

Air India has denied allegations of forcing families of crash victims to disclose financial details for compensation. In an exclusive statement to India Today, the airline claims the compensation process is being handled with flexibility and support. Air India states that interim compensation has already been paid to 47 families, with more in process. The controversy arose when family members alleged pressure from Air India over compensation claims. A lawyer representing the families claimed that victims’ kin were being threatened into signing certain forms showing dependency for compensation. Air India categorically denies these allegations, stating they are unsubstantiated. The airline asserts that 47 families have received advance compensation in accordance with the Montreal Convention, with 55 other families’ documents being processed.
