Political turbulence is intensifying in Tamil Nadu ahead of the 2026 assembly polls. Expelled AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran has launched an attack on party chief Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS), ruling out any reconciliation. Dhinakaran stated, "AIADMK has become Edapadi DMK" and warned the party cannot win the upcoming polls under the current leadership. In a significant political twist, Dhinakaran praised the BJP’s Annamalai, hinting at a possible alliance with the NDA if the choice for Chief Minister is acceptable. Meanwhile, Annamalai has maintained that the BJP does not interfere in the internal affairs of other parties. The rift within the AIADMK has also seen party functionary Alaguraj defect to the DMK, joining in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, adding another layer to the shifting political landscape.
