Researchers have developed WARN, an AI model that predicts atrial fibrillation with about 80% accuracy up to 30 minutes before it starts. Using deep-learning algorithms, it analyzes heart rate data to issue early warnings and calculate a "probability of danger." The model can run on smartphones paired with smartwatches, making real-time heart monitoring accessible. Its low computational needs make it ideal for wearable integration, potentially transforming how patients manage heart rhythm disorders. The findings were published in the journal Patterns.
