The Federation of Indian Pilots (FIP) has strongly criticised the handling of the Air India crash probe report, alleging a leak of cockpit recording details and character assassination of the pilots. The FIP has written to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, seeking an inquiry into the leak and demanding a judicial probe under Rule 12 of the AAIB. They have objected to AAIB officials visiting Captain Sabarwal’s bereaved father on August 30th. The FIP stated that "the conduct of the AAIB has moved beyond mere procedural irregularity into the realm of manifest bias and unlawful action." This conduct, they claim, has made the current investigation untenable and is likely to affect pilot morale. The letter also questions how cockpit voice recorder content was leaked to the media, leading to speculation.
