A startling revelation has emerged in the Air India flight 171 crash probe, with a US media outlet reporting that a cockpit recording indicates the captain may have cut the fuel flow to the engines. The recording allegedly captured the second pilot asking the more experienced captain why he moved the fuel switches to the cutoff position just seconds after takeoff. However, former Air India pilot Mr. Sharath Panicker expresses skepticism, suggesting a software command could also be responsible. Voicing the opinion of the pilot community, he said, "I find that a little incredulous." The investigation also notes the aircraft, a Boeing 787, had a stabilizer sensor issue reported on a previous flight the same day from Delhi to Ahmedabad, though Mr. Panicker believes a connection to the crash is "extremely unlikely."
