In coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) carried out airstrikes targeting Al-Shabaab militants on November 14-15, 2025, approximately 55 km northeast of Kismayo. AFRICOM, alongside Somali Armed Forces, continues to degrade Al-Shabaab’s ability to threaten the U.S., Somali citizens, and forces abroad.
