In Ayodhya, Food Commissioner Manik Chandra Singh said that officials have seized a large quantity of adulterated dates and dry fruits.
He stated that misbranding was also found, including missing best-before dates, which violates labelling and packaging rules. Authorities have confiscated the stock and said strict checks will continue during the festive season.
Keeping Holi and Ramzan in mind, the food department is conducting inspections to ensure public safety.
