At the Bharat Summit 2025, actor Ada Sharma shared the story behind her screen name. Born Chamundeshwari Iyer, she realized early in her career that her real name might make it difficult to enter films. Seeking advice from a friend in her Kathak class, she first considered the name Umrao Jaan. However, as the full name Umrao Jaan Ada was still long, she adopted just Ada and combined it with Sharma to create the stage name we know today. She also said, with her father’s name included, her full name is Chamundeshwari Lakshmi Narasimhan Sundaresan Iyer.
