Uttarakhand becomes the first Indian state to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will launch the UCC portal at 12:30 PM. The UCC website will facilitate marriage, living, divorce, and will registrations. This move changes family laws in Uttarakhand, fulfilling a promise made by Dhami in February 2022. The Congress party has rejected the draft, calling it illegal.
