7/11 Mumbai Blasts: All 12 Convicts Acquitted After 19 Yrs; HC Slams Prosecution

The Bombay High Court has acquitted all 12 individuals convicted for the 2006 Mumbai serial train blasts that killed 189 people. A special bench stated the prosecution "utterly failed to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt," overturning a 2015 trial court verdict which had sentenced five to death and seven to life imprisonment. One of the acquitted, Mohammad Sajid Ansari, told India Today, "The whole case is fake from beginning to end." The High Court found witness statements unreliable and noted procedural flaws in the investigation conducted by the Anti-Terrorism Squad. After nearly two decades, with one convict having died in prison, this judgment reopens the fundamental question of who was truly behind one of India’s deadliest terror attacks, leaving the victims’ families without closure. #mumbaitrainblasts #711mumbaiblasts #bombayhighcourt #itwebvideos #acquittal #justiceformumbai #terrorattack #mumbai #indiatoday #investigation #maharashtra #indianjudiciary #atsmaharashtra #wrongfulconviction #mumbailocal #neverforget
