In another huge blow to Red Terror, 24 hardcore Maoists surrendered before the forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district today. Of the 24 Maoists who turned themselves over, 20 attracted a combined cash reward of Rs 87.50 lakh. The big surrender came just days after the forces gunned down 31 Maoists, including top cadre Basavaraju, in the forests of Abhujhmad on the Narayanpur-Bijapur border.
Acknowledging the German support for Operation Sindoor and India’s right to self-defence post the Pahalgam terror attack, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar said no country would condone the horrific events of April 22. Weighing in on the Pahalgam massacre, Jaishankar said the manner of killings after determining the faith of the victims was meant to stoke religious discord in the country and wreck the tourism economy of Jammu and Kashmir.
In another big catch for the police and intelligence agencies amid the ongoing crackdown on India’s enemies within, another Pakistan spy was nabbed from Gujarat’s Kachchh.
