India has taken strict action against Pakistani propaganda channels following the Pahalgam terror attack. The government has banned several Pakistani YouTube channels and news outlets, including those of cricketer Shoaib Akhtar and popular news channels like ARY News, Dawn, and Geo News. This move comes after these channels were found disseminating provocative, communally sensitive content and false narratives. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a crucial 40-minute closed-door meeting to discuss ongoing security operations in the region. Meanwhile, Russia has declared a ceasefire in the Ukraine war from May 8th to 10th, coinciding with Victory Day celebrations. The decision was made on humanitarian grounds by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The ceasefire is timed around May 9th, which marks the victory of Allied forces in World War II. Reports suggest Chinese President Xi Jinping may attend the celebrations in Russia. The move aims to ensure security during the event attended by important dignitaries.
