Kuldeep Thakur, a private company owner, was driving on the wrong side of the road in Gurugram, a Haryana suburb of Delhi, when he hit and killed a motorcyclist named Akshat Garg. Thakur, who had a BJP sticker on his SUV, was granted bail within minutes of his arrest. The bail was granted at the discretion of the station house officer, not a court. The victim’s mother, Rekha Garg, is questioning why Thakur was allowed to leave the police station so quickly.
