Security forces neutralised at least 30 armed Naxalites in Chhattisgarh in two separate encounters. 26 Maoists were killed in the Bijapur-Dantewada border area, while 4 were neutralised in Kanker. A large cache of weapons was seized. Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the operation, reiterating the government’s commitment to end left-wing extremism by March 2026. The number of Naxal-affected districts has reduced from 196 in 2010 to 38 in 2024.
